Ownership & Disclosure

Who Owns Us,
And What We Declare

Readers are entitled to know who owns a news publication and what commercial interests sit behind it. This page sets that out, including the one relationship that could bear on our coverage.

A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage, and it does not buy protection from unfavourable coverage.

Ownership

Property News Africa is owned and operated by APIRender.com. It is not owned by, funded by or affiliated with any property developer, estate agency, construction firm, investment fund or government body.

APIRender.com also operates PropertyRender (propertyrender.co.za / propertyrender.com), a 3D architectural rendering and project marketing business serving property developers and agencies. Property News Africa and PropertyRender are separate businesses under common ownership.

What That Means

PropertyRender provides visualisation and marketing services to clients in the property industry. Some of those clients are developers and companies that Property News Africa reports on. This creates a potential conflict of interest, and we handle it as follows.

How we handle it

The common ownership of Property News Africa and PropertyRender is disclosed here, on this page, so that any reader can establish it.

Where a commercial relationship is material to a particular story — that is, where it could reasonably bear on how a reader understands our reporting — we disclose it in that story as well.

Editorial Independence

  • N
No editorial preference. PropertyRender clients receive no advantage in what we cover or how we cover it.
  • C
Critical reporting stands. Negative or unfavourable coverage is not withheld, softened or removed because of a commercial relationship.
  • R
No right of review. PropertyRender clients do not see articles before publication and have no approval over what we write.
  • T
Takedowns declined. Requests to remove accurate reporting are refused. Factual corrections are handled under our corrections policy, which applies equally to everyone.

Imagery

Concept images generated by AI and published alongside our articles are illustrative only. They are not PropertyRender work product, are not based on any real architectural design, and do not depict any actual project. They are captioned accordingly wherever they appear.

Advertising

Property News Africa carries advertising. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content, and advertising relationships are kept separate from newsroom decisions.

Where content is sponsored or commercially supplied, it is clearly labelled as such and presented distinctly from editorial reporting. We do not publish sponsored material disguised as news.

Raising A Concern

If you believe a conflict of interest has affected our coverage, or that a relationship should have been disclosed and was not, contact editor@propertynews.africa. We will review the article and publish a disclosure or correction where one is warranted.

Disclaimer: Property News Africa publishes journalism and general market information, not financial, investment or legal advice. Readers should conduct independent due diligence and seek qualified professional advice before making any property decision.
